How it Works
UPDATE - I took out the Rituals and the Endbringer for a couple more Vindicate Buy's and a Plains Buy. So now this deck is officially Extended, AND there won't be anymore of those games when I begin to desparately wish I had ONE MORE PLAINS in my deck. Thanks again to everyone who has helped me get it to this point...
UPDATE - I took out the Enlightened Tutor Buy for an Academy Rector Buy, and I also added in 4 Sakura-Tribe Elder Buy's, so now I have some quick chump blockers who still accel me enough. I took out a couple Kodama's Reach Buy's, though I still have two, which seems to be a better balance. Also, the Wrath of God Buy's have been replaced by Vindicate Buy's because of a shaky suggestion, but i thought i would give it a try anyway. Also, I woul like to point out that this deck can become Extended if I want to take it to a tourney, by taking out the Dark Ritual Buy's and the Shauku, Endbringer Buy and putting in anything else. So thats that.
UPDATE - I swapped out a Llanowar Dead Buy for a Birds of Paradise Buy, and...well, thats about it. Exciting stuff.
UPDATE - I took out the Moxes (again), because, while they really up the deck cost and make people think "Wow, that guy has Moxes!", I do not have Moxes, and I needed to make space for something more realistic. Like Black Lotus Buy...I wish. So, to replace the Moxes, I put in 4 Kodama's Reach Buy, which in my opinion belongs in any deck that uses green and plays spells. Also, I took out an Enlightened Tutor Buy, because I have been reminded that it is indeed restricted. So much for the whole cheating aspect of this deck. Now I guess i'll have to stack it better.
Interesting twist on LD. It doesn't use any of the generic cards, not even Zuran Orb Buy, so please do not suggest that, or Crucible of Worlds Buy and Fastbond Buy...
Also - the Moxes are only in the EM version of this deck. I do by NO MEANS own any of them. There are perfectly suitable replacements for them that I actually own, but I've noticed that any deck worth over 1000 bucks generally gets lots of attention...
For anyone who does not understand this deck immediatly, here is the basic point. Get out the Overgrown Estate Buy. Use the tutor, stack your deck, do whatever you have to. Then, try to get out the sanctuary, putting a nice little turn limit on your opponent. Then, play your mighty Desolation Angel Buy and pay the kicker unless you wish to screw yourself and lose. And of course, sacrifice your lands to the Estate before they die. After that, just stay alive until they get killed by the sanctuary, speed up their death the angel if you are in a hurry. other cards like Armageddon Buy also work instead of the angel, but you can't attack with a 5/5 Armageddon Buy every turn...
So thats it. The quick basics. For anyone bored or interested enough, read on to see a more detailed description of the cards in the deck. For anyone not bored or interested whatsoever, I give you my permission to stop here.
Overgrown Estate Buy - One of the two namesakes of the deck. It works well with the angel (see below), giving me lots of life, PLUS it is entirely perfect for the Nerca Sanctuary. Plus it has a cool picture.
Desolation Angel Buy - The other namesake of the deck. Ideally, its my win condition, because if i can blow the field of lands, I can stop them, and I can take them out with my big angel. If they have creatures, I can Wrath of God Buy them before playing the angel, and so on and so forth. Plus, its another card with a cool picture.
Necra Sanctuary Buy - The other win condition. Perfect against any and every deck in the world, it cannot be prevented and it totally screws up and Worship Buy deck. Which is actually why I really like it.
Spiritmonger Buy - This is probably one of my top 5 favorite cards...at least in this deck. In case the whole blow-the-field-and-kill-them-with-a-big-angel-and-a-little-sanctuary thing does not work, this guy can save me just as easily.
Phyrexian Scuta Buy - Another good card for this deck. I like it because of the kicker. I REALLY like kickers. But anyway, its used for the same reason as Spiritmonger Buy, as an alternate to my angel combo thing.
Kodama's Reach Buy - This helps me to accel and get the right mana at the right time. I REALLY like this card.
Academy Rector Buy - I use this to - lets see - oh yes, to find my Estate. Sometimes, when my opponent isn't paying full attention, I also use it to get my angel.
Worldly Tutor Buy - Same as the other tutor. Finds stuff.
Armageddon Buy - Kind of a wannabe alternative to the angel-estate thing. If I absolutely cannot wait to asplode the field, this works out nicely.
Soul Link Buy - Enchant a big creature, especially Spiritmonger Buy. Another way to gain lots of life, which is necessary when playing a deck like this for some reason.
Vindicate Buy - Better than Wrath of God Buy, or so it would seem. It really helps get rid of that annoying Island Buy on my opponent's field...
Sakura-Tribe Elder Buy - Chump blocking, mana-acceling uber creature. Its all here, packed into this little guy. Probably my 3rd favortie card in magic.
So thats pretty much all the big ones...I also use cards like Forest Buy, Swamp Buy, and Plains Buy to really accel and play my spells. So yep. Thats all for now.
