What's a Sideboard?

How it Works

The goal of Turbo-Fog decks is to be able to play a Fog Buy-like effect every turn. The problem with them is that, although they are great against creature based decks, they suck against combo decks. That's why I think blue is great in this deck: it stops combo and anything that could destroy Isochron Scepter Buy (obviously imprinted with a Fog Buy-like effect). Luminarch Ascension Buy is the perfect win condition for this kind of deck, if it is still in play four turns after you played it, it's pretty much game. The deck has so many Fog Buy-like effects so that if you draw Luminarch Ascension Buy and never get Isochron Scepter Buy you can still win. Howling Mine Buy is usually included in Turbo-Fog decks to assure you can prevent damage every turn, but I don't like it because it helps your opponent find an answer to Isochron Scepter Buy's lock. Instead, I prefer Muddle the Mixture Buy, which lets me search Isochron Scepter Buy, Luminarch Ascension Buy or Pollen Lullaby Buy, or counter an instant or sorcery spell, which are a much greater threat to the deck than creature spells. The reason I run Deprive Buy over Mana Leak Buy is because it is better when imprinted on Isochron Scepter Buy and for the late game, and has great synergy with Halimar Depths Buy. Jace, Memory Adept Buy is plan B in case Luminarch Ascension Buy gets exiled with Slaughter Games Buy or with Surgical Extraction Buy. It is also helpful for its +1 ability, helping ensure you don't run out of damage prevention. If I sideboard Meddling Mage Buy or Trickbind Buy, they can be searched with Muddle the Mixture Buy. The red splash's main reason is to stop Urzatron decks with Sowing Salt Buy from the sideboard, because otherwise there's just no way to win that match. Sowing Salt Buy is also very good against Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle Buy.
