If my opponent plays whiptongue hydra and I have two creatures with flying, but one is indestructible, how many counters does his hydra get? - he keeps saying that my indestructible creature is actually destroyed, so could you please give me the ruling/rule # - thank you.

Whiptongue Hydra The hydra will end up with one counter, and only your non-indestructible creature will be destroyed. A creature that has indestructible explicitly cannot be destroyed (702.12b), so only one of your creatures will be destroyed. As for counters, a creature that is "destroyed this way" must actually be destroyed to be counted - so only the non-indestructible creature is counted (the Gatherer entry on Whiptongue Hydra mentions the situations with regeneration and totem armor, which will end up with similar results). -------------------- Comprehensive Rules --- Gatherer --- Tournament Rules
