You may have noticed that some eM members have a gavel icon on their posts. This icon means that
the member is a moderator. So what is a moderator? What do they do? How can you become one?
This page is here to answer all of these questions.
- What is a Moderator?
Moderators are responsible for getting rid of things that don't belong on eM. Whenever
they see something inappropriate, they have the power to delete it. They also
have the power to get a member's account locked, but this is only used in extreme
circumstances.
- What do Moderators do?
Contrary to popular belief, moderators do not spend their entire day scouring the
site for stuff to delete and members to kick off. Our moderators aren't here to
stop people from having fun. They're just here to stop people from abusing eM. So, you
don't have to worry about a moderator kicking you off the site just because you said a
bad word or two. The only reason that you would have to worry is if you flame other
members or post inappropriate material (i.e. viruses, spam, pornography, etc.).
- How Can I Contact the Moderators?
You can contact the moderators by sending an email to
Moderators@EssentialMagic.com.
- How Can I Become a Moderator?
We currently have plenty of moderators and are not looking for any more. However, if
we decide in the future that we need more moderators, then we will contact the people
who we feel would make the best moderators. In general, we will only consider people
who meet the following criteria:
- Must be a regular visitor to the site
- Must regularly participate in forums or regularly rate decks & combos
- Must be friendly and intelligible when posting
